5th Annual County Progress Awards Program
County Progress and the County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas are now accepting nominations for the 5th Annual County Progress Awards Program. This program was designed to honor those who have achieved excellence in the following areas:
Community Service
a person(s), project or program that demonstrated a positive impact on the community as a whole.
Juvenile Impact
a person(s), project or program that demonstrated a high impact on juveniles and significantly increased the quality of life or has the potential to positively affect the future quality of life of those juveniles.
Senior Citizen Impact
a person(s), project or program that demonstrated a significant impact on senior citizens and contributed to a higher quality of life for those senior citizens.
Mentoring a Fellow Official
a judge or commissioner who actively mentored a fellow judge or commissioner and contributed to that official’s ability to adjust and perform as a newly elected official.
Going the Extra Mile
a person(s) or project that went “above and beyond the call of duty” to help an individual, segment of the community, or community as a whole.
Eligibility
- Awards will be given to an individual county judge or county commissioner, a specific commissioners court.
- Individual officials must be current officeholders.
- Specific commissioners courts must have at least two current officeholders.
- The achievement of excellence must have occurred within 2005, 2006 or 2007.
Nomination Procedure

All submissions must be sent by Aug. 10, 2007.
Selection Committee
County Progress and the County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas will designate a selection committee to review the nominations and select the recipients.
Awards Presentation
The awards will be presented at the County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas Annual State Conference Sept. 24-27 in Galveston.
