Tammy Wishard, Writer

Tammy Wishard has more than 20 years experience in communication/public relations. Ten of those years were spent with the Texas Medical Association, where she served as editor of the staff and member newsletters, and assisted staff association-wide in marketing their programs and services.

For the past four years, Tammy has worked as writer for County Progress . She also continues work on several projects for Texas Medical Association, including managing a bicycle helmet giveaway program.

“I enjoy my association with County Progress ,” Wishard said, “particularly the opportunity to talk with so many county officials and to learn more about the workings of county government.”

Wishard grew up on a farm in Iowa . She earned her bachelor’s degree in public relations from Abilene Christian University in 1983. Currently, she resides in Austin ( Travis County ) with her husband, Kevin, and their three children.
